About Us

Dental Health Care Serving Royersford, Pottstown, Phoenixville, Collegeville And Surrounding Communities

We are a small, intimate dental practice, founded in 1951 by Dr. Funk’s father; Richard B. Funk. The practice remains in the same location and maintains many of the original patients and their children, grandchildren, and in some cases great grandchildren. We take great pride in being a friendly people oriented practice and always strive to make sure all of our patients feel that their time and their wants are special to us.

Our immediate concern is dental health and maintaining a healthy disease free mouth, the long term success of all our work is dependent on healthy teeth and gums, so we are very adamant in stressing regular dental check up and cleanings. Our office has the technology and the talent to provide any type of dental service a person might want or need: Veneers, Crowns, Whitening, Root Canals, Dentures, Cosmetic Bonding, Sleep Apnea, TMJ and Headache therapy, Implant Restorations, CEREC crowns in a day, Orthodontics. We want to make sure that the money you invest in your teeth and smile is a long term investment.

About Dr.Robert J Funk, DDS FAGD

Dr. Funk grew up in Royersford and graduated from Spring Ford high school. He spent his college years at Juniata College and went to dental school at Temple Dental School. Dr Funk has invested many hours in continuing education and has become highly knowledgeable on many phases of dentistry. He tries to combine that knowledge with a craftsmanship so that any work he creates will be as perfect, enduring, and functional as possible.

Dr. Funk is married with two children and, has many interests including hiking, golfing, gardening, and reading. Dr Funk recognizes that dentistry for many patients is not a stress free experience so he tries to incorporate humor and conversation into his appointments so his patients can feel more relaxed and at home.

Barbie – Hygienist

Hi, my name is Barbie, I am one of seven children. I am very blessed to have the most amazing daughter. In my spare time, I love being outdoors painting, weeding, and growing my herb and vegetable garden. My new activity is going glamping.

I have been a hygienist since 2001. I am very passionate about my career. I care very much for the oral health care of ALL my patients as it can affect our OVERALL health, specializing in periodontal disease. Your visits allow me to detect and treat problems in their early stages before they have a chance to get worse.

Dr. Funk is a very prestigious dentist, I am honored to work with him and our professional staff. In addition to being a registered dental hygienist, I am also a health coach practitioner for healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy finances.

Maria – EFDA Dental Assistant

Introducing our amazing EFDA! She has been with the office for over 8 years and we simply could not run without her!

Hi! I’m Maria. I have been working alongside Dr. Funk since January of 2014. In 2016, I obtained my Expanded Functions Dental Assisting license at York Technical Institute in Lancaster, PA. I am currently working towards my Certified Dental Assistant License through the Dental Assisting National Board. I am fully committed to learning and educating myself when it comes to dental materials and techniques, so I can better assist Dr. Funk in providing the best possible dental care for our patients. In my spare time, I love to travel, read, run, bike and hike. I enjoy hard rock music, spending time with my sisters, and helping out at my family’s restaurant.

Adriana – Dental Assistant

Hello my name is Adriana, I am a mom to two boys, and Like most Americans, I lost my corporate job due to the pandemic. Losing my job was an eye-opener and it made me realize I was ready to pursue my passion of being of service to others and shortly after the opportunity to work for Doctor Funk as a dental assistant presented itself.

I am so fortunate to be part of a team that focuses on delivering the best service and experiences. One of my favorite things is to offer support to patients who are anxious about procedures, there’s no better feeling than offering support and relief during a stressful situation.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my kids, trying out new places to eat, and doing watercolor painting.

Courtney – Office Assistant

Hello, my name is Courtney. I’ve been working at Dr. Funk’s office for three years last Friday! I truly enjoy my job working alongside Dr. Funk and my coworkers. I have learned so much regarding insurance, finances, and procedures in these past three years.

I love helping our patients and interacting with them. I spend my spare time at the gym, skiing, and traveling. I also am a “foodie” as Dr. Funk would say! I love trying new restaurants and different foods! My favorite aspect of the job is the work environment, amazing boss, great coworkers, and positive energy.
